Ping Near Privacy contact

Privacy Policy

Effective August 24, 2026

Ping Near helps adults find and coordinate with a nearby companion. This policy explains what information the service handles and the choices available to you.

1. Who operates Ping Near

Ping Near is operated by Nikoloz Mamisashvili. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].

2. Information we collect

3. How we use information

We use this information to determine service availability, find compatible nearby users, estimate distance, coordinate a meeting place, deliver chat and meeting updates, send notifications, filter objectionable nicknames and messages, enforce user blocks, prevent repeated unwanted matching, investigate reports, secure and troubleshoot the service, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Information visible to another user

When you are matched, the other participant can receive your nickname, age, sex, approximate map position or distance, chat messages, place choices, and meeting actions. Ping Near does not intentionally show your exact submitted coordinates to the other participant.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising. Information may be processed by infrastructure and delivery providers that support Ping Near, including hosting providers, Apple Push Notification service, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, and web push providers. Map tiles are requested from OpenStreetMap infrastructure, which may receive network data and requested map tile coordinates. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users, or to investigate abuse.

6. Retention

Search eligibility and meeting availability expire as part of the service workflow. We retain associated session, meeting, message, safety report, and technical records only for as long as reasonably needed to operate and secure Ping Near, resolve disputes, investigate abuse, and meet legal obligations. Retention can vary based on the record and whether it is connected to a safety report. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.

7. Security and international processing

Ping Near uses HTTPS in transit and applies access controls intended to protect stored information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed in countries where Ping Near or its service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.

8. Your choices and requests

You can deny or revoke location and notification permissions in device settings, although nearby matching and notifications may then be unavailable. You may request access, correction, or deletion by following the data deletion instructions or emailing us. Because Ping Near uses anonymous sessions rather than email-based accounts, we may need your nickname, approximate session time, and other limited details to locate a record, and in some cases may be unable to verify that a record belongs to you.

9. Adults only

Ping Near is intended only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has used the service. Our prohibitions, reporting channels, and response practices are described in the Child Safety Standards.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website when appropriate.
